There are a few food programs to help those in need. Lunch Monday through Friday for anyone that
wants a meal. Emergency Food Boxes are available for those who have lost their homes, income, health
or other reason, including those that run out of food stamps and meet the USDA income guidelines.
Another is when fresh food is donated by local farmers or a trucker and is announced on the radio and
the community responds.
The Mayo Manna House is available as a meeting place for the Mayo AA Group, AL-ANON and Narcotics
Anonymous (NA).
A member of the Homeless Coalition of Suwannee Valley and Associated with other agencies with a wide
array of programs to meet a clients needs. A bedroom is available for those that need a place to stay up
to 3 days, with access to a shower, clothing and food. If they want to stay in the area, we guide them to
available employment and a place to live. The Mayo Manna House is a designated as a cold night shelter,
any night the temperature is expected to drop below 45 degrees the homeless and those without heat
may have a warm place to sleep. All they need to provide is a sleeping bag or blankets and any drinks or
snacks they may want.
A computer is available for clients to apply for Food Stamps, WIC, Medicaid and Unemployment.
