Class of Housing/Services: women's shelter

General Information:
THE PROGRAM Jesus teaches that there is hope for everyone! New Hope teaches the same principles, through our Christian program. Our schedule includes: Devotions daily at 8:30 AM Classes and Groups most days at 10 AM.  These include: Monday- Parenting Class Tuesday- Boundaries Group/  PM- Nutrition and Healthy Cooking Wednesday- Craft Group Thursday- Celebrate Recovery Friday- Finances/ Job Readiness 6:30 pm Daily Bible Study The women and children are not required to leave during the day and they are given support and guidance through our caring staff and volunteers.  We have several mature Christian women from the area who come in and supervise, teach, mentor, and sometimes just lend a listening ear.  Most of the volunteers and staff are women who have gone through some of the same struggles as many of the residents, in their own pasts, and are now able to testify as to the healing power of Christ in their lives. We are happy to provide case managers who are available 4 days each week to help navigate the different goal areas the women are working on.  Those goals include: medical, social, education, and employment as well as housing. These Christian case managers are able to work with the women for a short while after they leave the shelter.  We are also so very excited to have a Christian counselor who does individual sessions in addition to the groups she facilitates . God always provides just what we need! The shelter requires residents to sign a contract when they enter. This contract prohibits the use of drugs or alcohol, requires residents to attend all of the various meetings and Bible studies and take part in household chores.  All medications are kept locked up and dispensed under supervision of staff members.     Because of our spiritual requirements, the operational expenses of the shelter are provided by churches, businesses, and caring individuals.  Thank you to all who have had a part in the continued support of the New Hope Shelter!

As A General Note About ShelterListings.org Listings:
ShelterListings.org does our best to provide listings that are free of cost. Many of the homeless shelters and services are free of charge. Some do charge small fees. We always urge the users of our website to visit the websites of the providers listed, OR give them a phone call to find out complete details.

In furtherance; Halfway Houses, Transitional Housing, and Substance Abuse Treatment Centers for the most part charge a fee. Most of the substance abuse resources we provide are low cost, Medicaid or sliding scale fee. We provide as much information as possible on the website of these locations.

Rooming and Boarding Houses do charge fees. We list them where we find them. They are a nice low cost option for housing.
