General Information:
Since 1990 EEE has offered assistance to veterans of the US Armed Forces who have fallen victim to homelessness. EEE\'s innovative program offers 19 multiple occupancy homes (12 buildings on a 19.6 acre site) as well as rehabilitation and job training services to about 60 veterans at any one time EEE is located at 3700 S. Calle Polar in Tucson, Arizona. Most prospective residents are referred from the Southern Arizona VA Health Cary System, specifically from the Homeless Program and the Substance Abuse Treatment Program. Referrals are made by local homeless shelters, hospitals and other social agencies. Veterans seeking a transition housing program can call EEE directly. There may be a waiting list that may vary in length.  Interested veterans may call Monday through Friday from 9:00AM to 5:00PM for information. EEE Provides a unique 2 year program as a bridge from homelessness to employment and independent living. The basic focus of the program is to prepare residents for living independently.  As residents enter the program, a comprehensive evaluation is done by the staff as to special needs including physical, emotional, and vocational. Each resident brings to the program a unique set of skills and resources and every effort is made to build upon these.

Emergency Homeless Shelters both provide short term relief for the homeless and low income persons. Usually there is a maximum stay of 3 months or less. Many of these shelters ask their clients to leave during the day. Meals and other supportive services are often offered. 3 times out of 5 these shelters offer their services free of charge.
