Stand Down, is owned and operated by Faith Hope Love Charity, Inc. (FHLC, Inc.), assists male veterans who are struggling & have lost their homes & ability to lead productive lives due to combat & non-combat related mental & physical wounds/illness, addictions, and/or other issues regain their independence and lives through transitional living, a multi tiered program, & collaboration with government agencies, VSOs, & the community. Stand Down House is a transitional living facility (halfway house) that assists homeless male veterans who are struggling & have lost their ability to lead productive lives due to combat & non-combat related mental & physical wounds/illness (including PTSD & TBI), addictions, and/or other issues regain their independence and lives through a multi tiered program and collaboration with government agencies, VSOs, & the community.
Helpful Definitions For Stand Down Help For Homeless Veterans:
Halfway Housing helps transition individuals and families from shelters or homelessness to permanent housing. Length of stay is usually anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. Residents are often required to pay at least 30% of their income toward program fees. Sometimes the money they pay in fees is returned to them when they leave. Any emergency or homeless shelter that allows their clients to stay more then 6 months is also classified under this category.
Oftentimes halfway houses also assist in the treatment of substance abuse and/or alcohol and drug detox. Speak with the halfway house to see if this applies.
