General Information:
Mission in Citrus provides up to one year of shelter for formerly homeless. Potential residents are assessed by the Director to make sure they are suitable for their program. The program is not setup for those with mental illness or heavy substance abuse. When beds are available 3 days of emergency housing is also provided. Mission in Citrus does not charge fees for their services but residents with jobs must open a bank account and add to it on a weekly basis. The shelter consists of 17 beds. Other services include: - Food and help getting food stamps - Job search, resume and application help - Transportation to school, jobs, medical appointments etc. - Help with Pell Grants, other grants, and loans to attend College or Vocational training - Help in taking a GED - Anger management courses locally and online - Medical treatments and prescriptions - Money management - Family counseling.. Help with finding and getting back in touch with relatives and loved ones - Social events.. Fishing, bowling and other activities to help them in their transition back into the community - Nutrition and exercise program - Church and spiritual help.
