General Information:
Halfway House provides a supportive environment for patients to stabilize their lives, work or advance their education, seek housing, and transition back into society. Halfway house patients receive a minimum of 5 hours per week of substance abuse treatment programming and attend AA or NA support groups. This program is for recovering men and women who are either homeless or do not  have a home to return to after primary residential that is suitable to their recovery. The average length of stay is 2 to 3 months. Residing in a safe and substance-free environment is an important step in the recovery process. ASAC provides the opportunity to ease slowly back into your normal environment while continuing to learn how to make better choices. Qualifications To enter Halfway House an individual must have successfully completed a primary residential substance abuse treatment program and not have used alcohol or drugs for at least 30 days.

Halfway Housing helps transition individuals and families from shelters or homelessness to permanent housing. Length of stay is usually anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.  Residents are often required to pay at least 30% of their income toward program fees.  Sometimes the money they pay in fees is returned to them when they leave.
