General Information:
Hours: Monday – Friday 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. The Homeless Resource Center (HRC) is a comprehensive, daytime assistance center for homeless adults and families in Wichita/Sedgwick County. The HRC provides a safe environment for individuals to bathe, launder their clothes, receive mail, eat a daily meal, have a place to store personal belongings, meet with Open Door case managers, have access to the Klothes Kloset and connect with services offered by Open Door and our partner agencies. The facility offers space for clients, community offices for use by partner agencies, an education room, chapel and on-site access to medical and mental healthcare providers. Open Door continues to seek collaborative partners willing to leverage their services andexpertise against ours to increase effectiveness. We provide a single access point and services complimentary to our partners. Our current on-site, collaborative partnerships are:     COMCARE of Sedgwick County Homeless Services     Sedgwick County Shelter Care Plus     Veterans Administration     Kansas Legal Services     GraceMed Health Clinic     Hunter Health Clinic     People’s Net (peer support)     Salvation Army (veteran family assistance)     Catholic Charities (veteran family assistance)     Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center     Wichita Public Library     Miracles Inc. (addiction counseling) In addition, Open Door has long-standing referral relationships with , Union Rescue Mission (bed shelter), Kansas Department of Children and Families, Inter-Faith Ministries (housing), The Lord’s Diner, Center of Hope and the Wichita Police Department’s Homeless Outreach Team. Eligibility Individuals and families are eligible to receive assistance at the HRC if they meet the following requirements:     Must be homeless, as verified by another social-service agency or third party.     Be age 18 or older.     Agree to a tuberculosis test, administered on site by GraceMed Clinic.
