Class of Housing: warming center during winter months.
We open our location at 105 S. Third St. to all who may need a warm place to stay the night between the hours of 8pm and 8am. Volunteers and staff from the nonprofits below are on duty from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. to check in the homeless on the nights our center is open. Then, from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. a security guard provided by Faith Mission oversees the center. Unlike standard screening methods used at homeless shelters to admit clients, low-barrier standards are used since this housing is temporary during cold nights. As long as guests can come in and not cause issues, they are allowed to stay.
