Class of Housing/Services: shelter for homeless women and women with children.

General Information:
Intake Hours: Families: Monday – Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and holidays from10 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1 – 2 p.m. Single Women: Monday – Friday only, 9:30  – 11 a.m. (Valid government issued ID is required for all women. Mothers must provide birth certificates for all children.) Single women without children are transported to the UGM River Pointe Apartments, 9823 Summerwood Circle, Dallas, Texas, 75243. NO INTAKE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED AT UGM RIVER POINTE Shelter for up to 90 days, food, clothes, and tuberculosis screening. Chapel services, Bible study, Discipleship Program includes parenting skills, job skills, Christian living, Bible Study, literacy and GED training, computer education, academic training, counseling, mentoring, and Child Development Center. Center of Hope is a shelter for homeless women and women with children. The Center has the capacity to house up to 234 homeless women and their children. The Center provides: - Meals - Clothes - Showers - Shelter - Spiritual encouragement Lady's have the opportunity to join the Mission's Discipleship program. Helpful Definitions For Center Of Hope For Women And Children:
Transitional housing is affordable supportive housing designed to provide housing and appropriate support services to persons who are homeless or who are close to homelessness. The transition is to help them be more self sufficient to move towards independent living on their own. Transitional housing locations are oftentimes called Halfway Houses. The naming of the two (Halfway House OR Transitional House) is oftentimes interchangeable.

Many Transitional Housing programs are subsidized and are income based. Income based transitional housing generally charges 30% of your income for rent when you do have income. Contact the transitional housing facility to see if this applies.

Services provided at transitional housing facilities varies from substance abuse treatment, to psychological assistance, job training, domestic violence assistance, etc. The assistance provided varies, but it is generally affordable and low cost housing. Read the descriptions of each of the transitional living locations for more detailed information. Transitional housing facilities also may or may not assist with alcohol and/or drug substance abuse treatment.
