With 166 beds and 55 rooms, Laura’s Home offers specialized, wraparound services designed to empower families and individuals to live healthy lives. Every room in Laura's Home has been full with a waiting list since 2012. Our hope is that in the near future, life-changing meaningful solutions will be offered to the women and children of Cleveland who need lasting change. Phase 1: Help When a single woman or a mom with kids arrives at Laura's Home, we take intentional time to let them know they're safe, and introduce them to what it means to participate in the Laura's Home program. While we do have a small number of emergency beds available, most of the space at Laura's Home is dedicated to those that choose to join our three phase program - which lasts 6+ months! Aside from providing for all basic needs, our staff begins to engage women through a personal caseworker and introductory crisis support groups. Children are immediately supported through Pathways, in-house childcare, tutoring, and fun activities. Phase 2: Heart Women committed to participating in the full program create individualized program plans with their caseworker. Onsite, loving childcare is provided by staff so the mothers can fully embrace the opportunities provided at Laura's Home. Laura’s Home staff works closely with each woman to help her access resources such as adequate income and sustainable housing that she'll need as she determines her future. Part of this stage might also include onsite education and vocational training, counseling groups and classes to heal from trauma and mental health issues, and involvement with a local church, support groups, Bible classes and chapel services. Phase 3: Home In phase 3 we celebrate! For some, phase 3 will be brief, but for others, phase three can last months past graduation. We allow families and individuals to take the time they need to achieve their most sustainable option. Women in phase 3 are often focused on saving money, finding work with adequate wages, or locating housing in an area where their children can thrive.  When women walk across the stage at commencement, they do so knowing that whatever happens next, they're prepared to navigate their circumstances with skill and grace.
