General Information:
Our emergency services are available free of charge to all in need. We provide meals, overnight shelter, clothing, showers, laundry and other vital services. Men's Residential Program's Basic Admission Criteria At least 18 years old Free of sex offenses and current pending charges Physically able to perform work therapy assignments Willing to submit to random drug and alcohol testing Serious about a life change No steady source of income Not applied for or currently receiving assistance (For example: SSI, SSD) Open to the message of Christ Willing to commit to a minimum stay of 9-12 months Application and Interview Process: The individual desiring help must initiate a phone conversation with the Chaplain to discuss scheduling an intake interview. All interviews are conducted on-site at Haven of Rest Ministries. Men's Day Room Ministry The Men's Day Room is the entry point for homeless men to begin the rehabilitation process that will lead to the stabilization and re-establishment of their lives. As men come in off the streets, they find a variety of essential services available to them, including laundry, showers and mail pick-up. In addition, there are counseling rooms where they can meet privately with Haven of Rest staff or other social service agency workers to discuss problems and needs. Classroom space is also provided for life skills training, Bible studies and group meetings. Lodging Ministry The Client Services Center's 100-bed dormitory provides safe, clean lodging for homeless men who might otherwise spend their nights alone or in danger on the streets. The dormitory includes a special 10-bed dormitory that is used by men who have secured night jobs and need a place to sleep during the day. WOMEN'S MINISTRY As a shelter for single women and women with children, the purpose of the Women's Division is to glorify God by providing Christ-centered services and programs that meet immediate physical and spiritual needs, and provide the rehabilitative care to help clients through a period of crisis resolution and/or addiction recovery. Harvest Home was opened in 1979 in response to the growing need for an emergency shelter for women and children in crisis situations. The shelter can accommodate up to 59 women and children. Services offered for Harvest Home include Emergency shelter for approximately three to six months Three meals and two snacks per day Clothing and household items Case management Individual counseling Evening Devotions Chapel service Daily Bible study Nutrition classes Becoming Discipleship Program The Women's Day Room is the entry point for women to begin the rehabilitation process that will lead to the stabilization and re-establishment of their lives. The Harvest Home's 20-bed women's dormitory provides safe, clean lodging for homeless single women. Those who come are welcomed into a warm, family-like atmosphere where Christian love is demonstrated through staff. Every effort is made to meet women's and children's immediate needs and to help them take the steps that will lead to the resumption of meaning, productive life. Children's Ministry Harvest Home provides homeless children with a safe place to be a child. In our Nurture Center, our full-time Child Advocate gives children the love, care, and attention they need. Children's needs are met by providing: Child care After-school activities and tutoring Summer activities and field trips Birthday celebrations
