General Information:
We offer transitional housing for women recovering from substance abuse.  Our environment is structured and supportive,so that the recovering person can receive the help necessary to start living a sober life and return to a responsible, productive member of society.  We open the door, but you hold the key to your success. Long term is available for those in need. Supportive Transitional Living At Spain’s Residential Living, residents are able to start their recovery journey in an atmosphere that reflects the comfort of home and provides a structured environment. Each resident will have access to a private, furnished room, large common living room, dining room, and a large eat in kitchen. We offer 3, 6, 9 or 12-month leases with the option to renew. Striving For Self Sufficiency Program Spain’s Residential Living’s Striving for Self-Sufficiency program is in place to assist residents in developing living skills to facilitate a positive return to their family and community while maintaining an alcohol/drug free lifestyle. In addition to transitional housing and employment assistance, each resident receives a personalized plan that may include access to Job Readiness training, GED Preparation classes, Parenting classes, Mental Health Counseling, HIV/AIDS/STD testing and education, 12-Step programs, community service projects, financial literacy and money management workshops, long-term mentoring and many other life skills-related programs. Eligibility Guidelines     Open to women ages 18 and over     Must have a minimum of 30 days of sobriety     Each client must be gainfully employed, actively seeking employment or have verifiable disability income     Participate in a 12-step recovery program     Commit to a 90 day recovery program

Helpful Definitions For Spains Residential Living For Women:
Transitional housing is affordable supportive housing designed to provide housing and appropriate support services to persons who are homeless or who are close to homelessness. The transition is to help them be more self sufficient to move towards independent living on their own. Transitional housing locations are oftentimes called Halfway Houses. The naming of the two (Halfway House OR Transitional House) is oftentimes interchangeable.

Many Transitional Housing programs are subsidized and are income based. Income based transitional housing generally charges 30% of your income for rent when you do have income. Contact the transitional housing facility to see if this applies.

Services provided at transitional housing facilities varies from substance abuse treatment, to psychological assistance, job training, domestic violence assistance, etc. The assistance provided varies, but it is generally affordable and low cost housing. Read the descriptions of each of the transitional living locations for more detailed information. Transitional housing facilities also may or may not assist with alcohol and/or drug substance abuse treatment.
