Class of Housing/Services: The only year-round homeless shelter in southeastern Vermont. We provide shelter and comprehensive support services for families and individuals

General Information:
As the only year-round homeless shelter in southeastern Vermont, our services are in high demand:     SHELTER (29 beds) and intensive case management for families and individuals experiencing homelessness.  The Shelter offers an extended stay and works     collaboratively with area non-profit and public agencies to help people connect to a wide range of services including: job training and placement, medical and mental health treatment, family and substance abuse counseling, budget management, nutrition, health education, parenting and child care services, and assistance in identifying and qualifying for subsidized housing opportunities.     HOUSING SUPPORT CASE MANAGEMENT provides housing retention support services to individuals and families as they transition back into housing as tenants; preventing future housing crises     THE REPRESENTATIVE PAYEE PROGRAM provides an intermediary between Social Security recipients and their benefits; ensuring that rent and basic living expenses are paid, to keep participants in good financial standing, thereby preventing future threat of homelessness     THE YOUTH SHELTER COLLABORATIVE is an innovative response to youth homelessness; providing a cost-effective, supervised, three-bedroom shelter space for which Morningside holds the lease and case management is provided by Youth Services, Inc. If you are homeless or anticipate becoming homeless and would like to be added to our waiting list, please provide your contact information below, and we will get in touch with you. Wait List Check In If you have done a phone interview with us and you are currently on our wait list, we ask you to check in once a day to let us know if you still need shelter. Helpful Definitions For Morningside Shelter:
Emergency Homeless Shelters both provide short term relief for the homeless and low income persons. Usually there is a maximum stay of 3 months or less. Many of these shelters ask their clients to leave during the day. Meals and other supportive services are often offered. 3 times out of 5 these shelters offer their services free of charge.
