Class of Housing/Services: Shelter and Transitional Housing for women and families

General Information:
Harbor House Crisis Shelters' mission is to provide a hosptiable shelter, trnasitonal living and services to homeless women and families. HHCS provides 30 emergency shelter which includes information and referral, case management, crisis intervention, children's programming and suppport. The Transitional Living Center is a longer-term supportive housing program that provides case management and resident meetings. Emergency services is the "SAMaritan Fund" through the Superior Area Minsiterium. HHCS adminsiters these funds for utility assistance, rental assistance, co-pays, transportation assisatnce and/or as staff determines the nature of the emergency.

Helpful Definitions For Harbor House Crisis Shelters:
Supportive Housing Programs that provide an alternative living arrangement for individuals who, because of age, disability, substance abuse, mental illness, chronic homelessness or other circumstances, are unable to live independently without care, supervision and/or support to help them in the activities of daily living; or who need access to case management, housing support, vocational, employment and other services to transition to independent living.
