Class of Housing/Services: Emergency and transitional shelter for homeless men.

General Information:
Services: Emergency and transitional shelter for homeless men. The South Wilmington Street Center provides a tier of services both on and off site that are designed to lead men to self-sufficiency. The shelter provides  short term emergency dorms with overnight shelter only, while other dorms offer longer-term shelter to men who engage in services over a six-month period. Those services range from case management, budgeting and credit counseling, mental health/substance abuse treatment and referrals to other programs. The goal is to provide safe shelter while the men develop realistic plans for moving out of the shelter, and into employment and housing of their own. Homeless men, age 18 and older. Hours/Days: 7 days, 24 hours. Check-in is from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (anytime for new guests). Emergency shelter beds distributed daily using a lottery system, except for new guests who are guaranteed a bed for their first night only. All guests have access to services such as meals, comprehensive case management, and information and referral assistance. A transitional program and access to permanent housing assistance is also available to those motivated to become self-sufficient.
