This is a Transitional halfway house for women with children. Freedom House is operated by Volunteers of America. The women at this facility must be chemically depedent. Priority is given to pregnant women. Call for details and openings. Volunteers of America’s Freedom House is a longterm residential treatment program for alcoholic/drug dependent pregnant women and women with young children. The holistic and comprehensive program is designed to treat the women’s chemical dependency, break the cycle of addiction in families, reunite families broken apart by chemical dependency, and promote the birth of clean, sober, healthy babies.

Halfway Housing helps transition individuals and families from shelters or homelessness to permanent housing. Length of stay is usually anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.  Residents are often required to pay at least 30% of their income toward program fees.  Sometimes the money they pay in fees is returned to them when they leave. Any emergency or homeless shelter that allows their clients to stay more then 6 months is also classified under this category.
