General Information:
Passages is a residential facility that provides both extended care and halfway house programming for chemically dependent men ages 18 and older. The program is a structured, recovery-based program designed to provide a transition for men completing a primary chemical dependency treatment program. Passages' halfway house program emphasizes attaining job skills and/or pursuing educational goals. Men in this program must attend five hours of structured programming each week, including group sessions, individual counseling, job skills training and special needs of men in recovery. In the extended care track, the men spend 15 hours a week in structured programming. In addition to the components listed above, the program includes family counseling, anger management, living skills and special issues appropriate for recovery. Assessment and Intake To be referred to Passages, a client must have completed primary treatment. Referrals to Passages can be made by counselors from social service agencies, treatment centers, court systems, physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists or members of the recovery community. Self-referral or referral by family members may also be appropriate. Cost The daily rate includes room, board and program costs; medical costs are not included. Insurance and assistance programs may cover some of the costs. Passages administration can check into this for you if needed. Licensure Passages is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services under Rule 35 as a residential program for chemically dependent men ages 18 and older. It is licensed as a supervised living facility by the Minnesota Department of Health.
