Class of Housing/Services: Transitional housing for disabled.

General Information:
Transitional shelter for individual  males and females who are disabled.  Licensed AFC. Capacity 36.  Usually around 94% full.  Stay from 2 months to 2 years.  Fairview does not tolerate alcohol or substance abuse and reserves the right to test.  Fairview screens referrals and emergency response should not be expected.  Recipents cannot get SSI while in the home due to Social Security rules.  All residents are automatically eligible for State Disability Assistance as per public act. Applicants should be sober and willing to receive services. Mentally Ill applicants should be referred by Community Mental Health. Age group is usually 45 and older. Residents can set aside some earnings or Social Security funds to gain independence. The Superintendent is solely responsible for screening and intake…by appointment.
