Affordable Supportive Housing Program
The Affordable Supportive Housing Program is one of three types of housing that St. Elizabeth offers on our campus in New Albany. Since 1989, our Maternity Home has been providing shelter and support to pregnant women. Then, in 1996 we added a Transition Home, now known as the Family Stability Program to allow mothers a safe place to live while they raise their child, receive counseling, case management and the opportunity to further their education or decide upon a vocation.
The needs of our community made it necessary to expand our programs in order to serve the many vulnerable families waiting for housing. Through the Affordable Supportive Housing (ASH) Program families facing homelessness can live independently in affordable housing. This program offers rent on a sliding scale fee as well as access to case managers, mental health therapists, distribution, and all other resources St. Elizabeth’s has to offer.

CASA Program
Every year, over 700,000 children in the U.S. experience abuse and neglect. Court Appointed Special Advocates in Floyd and Washington Counties are the spokespersons in court for these children. Volunteers undergo 30 intensive hours of training, are sworn in by a judge and make a year-long commitment to build a relationship with a child to help them find stability and hope for the future.

Volunteer Requirements
Must be 21 years old
Time to devote to pre-service and in-service training
Time to devote to the investigation and follow up of assigned cases
Ability to maintain confidentiality, objectivity, maturity and good judgment
Great communication skills
Family Stability Program
The Family Stability Program serves as a residence for homeless, pregnant or parenting women age 18 and older. Women can live for up to 120 days in one of the mini apartments while working toward educational and vocational goals, getting connected to community resources, receiving mental health counseling and learning life skills to become independent and self-sufficient All residents receive onsite group, family and individual mental health counseling, coordination of community resources, referrals for career services and job placement, parenting classes, assistance with finding permanent housing and 24 hour support from caring house parents and staff. Residents in this program pay graduated rent.
Requirements
For pregnant or parenting women over the age of 18
Children must be 5 years of age or younger upon move in
Residents must be working, going to school or a combination of the two
Supported Living Program
The Supported Living Program (SLP) of St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities offers help for adults and children with developmental delays in the Indiana counties of Floyd and Clark. A Direct Support Professional is assigned to each individual to serve as a mentor, teacher and cheerleader to aid in developing and achieving goals, fostering individual interests and assisting with day-to-day responsibilities. We also provide transportation to all necessary appointments and help them get to events in the community such as classes at the YMCA and baseball games.
Requirements
Must be a resident of Floyd or Clark Counties in Indiana
Must rent or own residence, or live with a family member
Must have current Medicaid Waiver
