General Information:
Description of Service: This housing program provides young women, ages 17-21, with the skills and opportunity to complete their educations, obtain employment, adhere to a budget, and develop positive support systems before facing the world independently. Intended Participants: Young women (ages17-21) with Fee For Service Medicaid who are in or aging out of the foster care or juvenile system and intend to transition out of substitute living situations into the community and live independently. Oftentimes you can apply for sliding scale fee payment or other options if you are low income. You will need to speak with them to see if you qualify.

Transitional housing is affordable supportive housing designed to provide housing and appropriate support services to persons who are homeless or who are close to homelessness. The transition is to help them be more self sufficient to move towards independent living on their own. Transitional housing locations are oftentimes called Halfway Houses. The naming of the two (Halfway House OR Transitional House) is oftentimes interchangeable.
