Service Area Serving Memphis, Nashville, & Clarksville, Tennessee, as well as Little Rock, Arkansas   Lighthouse is a faith-based recovery support services and transitional housing program. Emergency shelter is offered for three days during fair weather-longer in weather emergencies. After the initial 3 days, individuals who desire active recovery may enter a long term (6 months to 1 year) program and must work (if able)in order to contribute to the cost of their care. Fair wages are paid in the work program; on graduation a rent and utility deposit is paid on behalf of the graduate who also receives a Walmart voucher for household items. This is a Christian facility; however, our programs are inclusive, and we offers services regardless of race, creed, color, or doctrine. Fees may apply for this Transitional Housing resource. Transitional housing is affordable supportive housing designed to provide housing and appropriate support services to persons who are homeless or who are close to homelessness. The transition is to help them be more self sufficient to move towards independent living on their own. Transitional housing locations are oftentimes called Halfway Houses. The naming of the two (Halfway House OR Transitional House) is oftentimes interchangeable.

Many Transitional Housing programs are subsidized and are income based. Income based transitional housing generally charges 30% of your income for rent when you do have income. Contact the transitional housing facility to see if this applies.

Services provided at transitional housing facilities varies from substance abuse treatment, to psychological assistance, job training, domestic violence assistance, etc. The assistance provided varies, but it is generally affordable and low cost housing.
