Class of Housing/Services: Transitional Housing, counseling, support, housing, homeless elders

General Information:
Founded in 1969, Project FIND grew out of a federal demonstration project initiated in 1967 to study the needs of senior citizens and services available to them in 13 selected sites. Project FIND in New York City is the only one of the original programs still in existence. Our mission is to provide low and moderate-income and homeless older adults on Manhattan's West Side with the basic support and services they need to enrich their lives and live independently in the community for as long as possible. For homeless elders, Project FIND offers case management and counseling, assistance in obtaining entitlements and benefits, help getting to the doctor and obtaining medications, and more. At our Woodstock Senior Center, seniors can get hot showers and clean clothes. Our social workers try to put homeless seniors on a path toward finding housing. For further information, please call or stop by the Woodstock Senior Center.
