Humility of Mary Housing, Inc. empowers, strengthens and increases the self-reliance of single parent families, who have been homeless, through supportive services and quality housing. Our participating families live in furnished apartments we manage, paying rent on a sliding-fee scale. We offer supportive living arrangements in a clean and safe environment. heather's family Our transitional housing program gives families the stability they need to regain their footing and achieve housing independence. Rent for each participating family is determined according to their income. The period of housing stability that our program provides frees the parents to move forward toward housing independence by accomplishing the steps in the process. Each HMHI family receives the assistance of a Service Coordinator, a social worker who can help them set achievable goals. Each family is unique. Some set educational goals, others secure legal assistance or gain employment skills. In addition to the personal support of caring professionals and a rent payment based on income, HMHI participants also access the following assistance: Participant accesses HMHI clothing donationsFamily support Monthly informative group meetings Referrals for child care, education, job training, and other community services. Christmas adoption A clean, safe environment to raise children Access to a food pantry Access to clothing donations and household items Thanksgiving & Easter food baskets Fully furnished apartments Referrals to community resources Budget/Financial planning assistance
