Class of Housing/Services: upportive housing for formerly homeless women, children and men.

General Information:
Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Mon.-Fri. (except holidays) Brooklyn Community Housing and Services (BCHS) provides safe, clean, supportive housing for formerly homeless women, children and men. We help them learn how to live productively and independently, with dignity, and with hope. Brooklyn Community Housing and Services (BCHS) offers a comprehensive range of services to address the diverse and complex issues facing the formerly homeless women, children and men we assist. Our programs provide short-term, transitional and permanent housing, homelessness prevention, personalized case management, mental health care, on-site nursing, vocational training, substance abuse counseling, recreational activities and other vital services.   The Brooklyn Housing Assistance Center (BHAC) is designed to prevent homelessness for people who are presently living in stable housing but are facing a crisis that is putting their housing at risk. The BHAC works as an eviction prevention initiative to help single adults and families in Brooklyn avert homelessness.   BROOKLYN GARDENS Brooklyn Gardens provides short-term, transitional, and permanent housing for 180 formerly homeless New Yorkers. Because each building opens into a common courtyard with benches, chess tables, and gardens, the physical space encourages social interaction, and allows residents to develop a real community. There are three housing programs located within Brooklyn Gardens: Arbor Inn, Ivy House and Oak Hall.
