General Information:
Housing Services Our Homelessness Prevention Program emphasizes both immediate and longer-term strategies for reducing homelessness and strengthening self-sufficiency. While housing units are not offered at all locations, we help individuals and families remain housed through rent/mortgage and utilities assistance. Burlington County: 801 Burlington Avenue, Delanco NJ 08075 – 856-764-6940 Mercer County: 132 N Warren Street, Trenton NJ 08608 – 609-394-8847 Ocean County: 200 Monmouth Avenue, Lakewood NJ 08701 – 732-363-5322   Rapid Rehousing Rapid Rehousing uses a combination of federal (HUD) and county funds to help homeless individuals and families in Burlington and Mercer locate affordable permanent housing and offers 3-6 months of financial assistance. The program focuses on four areas: intensive case management, financial assistance, housing location and multiple types of community support and resources. In Burlington and Mercer counties, Rapid-Re-Housing is one of several programs offered to help individuals and families obtain housing and develop & the skills necessary for meeting monthly housing and other living costs. Parents are provided with job skills and household budget training. Monmouth County:  4261 Route 33, Tinton Falls NJ 07724 – 732-922-0400 Transitional Housing Group Home Beacon House is our transitional group home in Neptune for homeless young men ages 17 to 21, and also offers a supervised apartment program for young men and women. Residents receive training in independent living skills and are linked to vocational and educational services to learn a trade, finish high school or earn a college degree. Monmouth County:  1410 Sixth Avenue, Neptune NJ 07753 – 732-502-9245 Emergency Temporary Sheltering In Burlington County, families can seek assistance with emergency sheltering , although it is limited. Helpful Definitions For Catholic Charities Trenton Transitional Housing:
Transitional housing is affordable supportive housing designed to provide housing and appropriate support services to persons who are homeless or who are close to homelessness. The transition is to help them be more self sufficient to move towards independent living on their own. Transitional housing locations are oftentimes called Halfway Houses. The naming of the two (Halfway House OR Transitional House) is oftentimes interchangeable.

Many Transitional Housing programs are subsidized and are income based. Income based transitional housing generally charges 30% of your income for rent when you do have income. Contact the transitional housing facility to see if this applies.

Services provided at transitional housing facilities varies from substance abuse treatment, to psychological assistance, job training, domestic violence assistance, etc. The assistance provided varies, but it is generally affordable and low cost housing. Read the descriptions of each of the transitional living locations for more detailed information. Transitional housing facilities also may or may not assist with alcohol and/or drug substance abuse treatment.
