General Information:
The Overnight Shelter program provides up to 90 days of shelter for homeless families with children through local congregations rotating in their responsibilities on a weekly basis. The program also provides: - 3 meals a day - Case management - Tranportation to job sites, job interviews - Child care facilities - Toiletry items Transportation between the host congregation and the Day Resource Center is provided. FFH's IHN is a shelter program based on a national model that provides transitional shelter for children and their families experiencing homelessness. Host churches, synagogues and support congregations work in collaboration to provide year round shelter, meals, and a loving presence while FFH staff provide transportation, case management, referrals and other supportive services to families as they work toward achieving goals of permanent housing and self-sufficiency. In 2012, 93% of the families in our IHN program exited into safe, stable housing. 45% of these families improved their income while in the IHN program. Features of IHN:     Clean warm beds provided for eight-ten families in a loving environment     Shelter provided by 28 Austin area host churches and synagogues and 19 support congregations     Families rotate to a different facility each week     Hot meals twice a day and sack lunches when needed     Laundry and shower facilities     Transportation provided to work, school, child care     Personal toiletry items such as shampoo, diapers, etc…     Caring volunteers provide hot meals and encouraging support     Assistance with job searches and training if necessary     Shelter services are available to homeless families for up to 90 days     Access to the Passages program
