Class of Housing/Services: Temporary Shelter and services.

General Information:
Cookeville Rescue Mission offers temporary emergency shelter to anyone who has need of it. Many local housing and assistance programs have waiting lists for their services, which means that those who have an immediate need for help would be left in the cold if not for a temporary place to stay. That’s where we come in. We’re open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year, including holidays, and provide regular meals, along with a devotional at 7 p.m. each evening and church services on Sunday. While our residents are here, we try to connect them with various local agencies that can provide housing assistance, job placement, health services and other social services. We offer the following programs and facilities:     Three-day program     For single males needing a clean place to stay for a few days     30-day program     For single males who have found a job and need a place to stay until they can accumulate enough money to move out or travel on     Lighthouse Family Lodge     Provides emergency housing for entire families     Ladies’ Dorm     Located in the Family Lodge; a safe place for single ladies Residents have access to a laundry room and a hair salon and are offered free dental care through our in-house dental clinic. We also offer residents the opportunity to generate immediate income as day laborers in our local community.
