General Information:
Atlanta Union Mission's Bolton Road Campus is a home for as many as 162 men participating in the residential recovery and transitional housing programs. The recovery program is composed of a six to 12-month Christian curriculum featuring individual and group counseling, life skills training, work therapy and spiritual guidance. The transitional housing program is 18-months. The program continues recovery and healing process for graduates of the residential recovery program. Men in the transitional housing program live in a supportive, drug-free environment while working or pursuing further education to begin the transition to independent living. Transitional housing is affordable supportive housing designed to provide housing and appropriate support services to persons who are homeless or who are close to homelessness. The transition is to help them be more self sufficient to move towards independent living on their own. Transitional housing locations are oftentimes called Halfway Houses. Services provided at transitional housing facilities varies from substance abuse treatment, to psychological assistance, job training, domestic violence assistance, etc. The assistance provided varies, but it is generally affordable and low cost housing. Transitional housing facilities also may or may not assist with alcohol and/or drug substance abuse treatment.
