The Downtown Rescue Mission, formerly Sapp Center, provides both short-term and long-term housing for single women and families. Teenage males, and male parents are accepted. Services include: - Food - Clothing - Shelter - Dducation Sapp Shelter is open 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. The Sapp Shelter has room for 100 women and children. The Downtown Rescue Mission is a nonprofit organization serving the homeless living throughout northern Alabama and southern Tennessee. For more than 30 years, we have saved numerous lives and have had a profound impact on thousands of others by providing Christ-filled, enriched and compassionate services to those in desperate need.
